1.1 Main URL
URL can be assigned by client, however SSL cert must be applied to allow Reader to access to the system via https. The main URL is the only link for the Reader, Staff and Administrator to access to their account. The system will automatically log the user to their account once the system detected the email account, either as Reader, Staff or Administrator.
1.2 Searching
Reader is able to search ebooks from this platform. Searching Tool is searching on the metadata of the ebook. A searching result will be displayed after the searching. The result will be displayed followed alphabetical order. The result will be arranged according to the rating, the activeness of the ebook and then random display on the result. Ebook can support pdf and epub. The platform is come with onboard viewer. Please refer to the later section for the onboard viewer (ProView). Reader also can filter the ebooks by category, language and author. Reader can click one of the ebooks to view the info. The info is including the title, author, contributor, publisher, year of publishing, description and etc.
1.3 EBook Description – Common view and CIP view
Ebook info has 2 views; one is the common view (or we called it common description) and another is CIP view which is to show the professional info of the ebook. The ebook cover image can be viewed on the ebook details. Reader can browse the reviews of the ebook and also the rating. Reader can add the ebook to the cart and checkout later. Reader can add the ebook to the Wishlist. Besides ebook, the Reader can add Author, Publisher and the Store to the Wishlist.
1.4 ProV Digital Right Management (ProV-DRM)
ProV-DRM is the own development module of ProV to protect and to manage the copyright of ebooks. Reader is unable to download the ebook sources from the platform. The Reader is able to view the purchased or the borrowed ebook from the platform via Computer’s browsers and the ProV Mobile App (we called it ProV App).
ProV-DRM is the patent owned by Lemonjar Software Media Sdn. Bhd.
1.5 Add to Cart and Checkout
Reader can choose to add the favorite ebook to cart and checkout to borrow the ebook. The checkout ebook will appear in MyLibrary, Reader can read the checked out ebook anytime. If the ebook is expired, the ebook is still in “MyLibrary”, Reader loan it again.
1.6 Sharing on Social Media
Reader can recommend the ebook to friend via the social media. We have Facebook, Twitter, Email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Telegram, Reddit. The social media can be added from time to time.
1.7 ProV ebook viewer (ProView)
The platform is come with onboard reader, including computer browsers and ProV App. ProV App is supported on iOS and Android.
If the ebook is appeared in pdf format, the platform will prepare the onboard pdf viewer for you to read the ebook. You are unable to download the ebook. You are only allowed to read the ebook by using the platform. For pdf type of ebook, you are unable to add bookmark or leave note on it.
If the ebook is appeared in .epub format, the platform will prepare the onboard epub viewer for you to read the ebook. You still unable to download the ebook. You are only allowed to read the ebook via the platform. Our ProV View epub viewer allow you to add bookmarks, notes and highlights to your ebook. And your bookmarks, notes, highlights are saved on to your account. Wherever and which device you are using to read the ebook, you bookmarks, notes, highlights will follows. This is to give you a very convenient reading experience. It is a wonderful tool that make ProV different than others.
1.8 Reader Registration and Log in
Staff can create an account for Reader from Staff Interface. The account registration is simple and easy. The account registration need only the email account. Email verification is needed. Reader can change the password of the account.
1.9 Integrate with Active Directory via LDAP
ProV is able to integrate with Active Directory via LDAP. User will be registered automatically to the system if the account is validated and approved by the Active Directory. This is able to achieve the SSO internally.
1.10 MyLibrary
In MyLibrary, you can access to Cart, eBook Shelf, Transaction History, Wishlist, Notices. In eBook Shelf, you could read your ebook. If the ebook is appeared as pdf format, the platform will prepare the onboard pdf viewer for you to read the ebook. If the ebook is appeared as epub format, the platform will prepare the onboard epub viewer for you to read the ebook. This comprehensive viewer is called ProView. In Transaction History, you can check and browse your reading history. Of course you can borrow again the borrowed ebook (expired). In Wishlist, you could view the details of the ebook, the author and the ebook store, which are added by you.
You can manage your personal info in this section, such as change your email address and credentials. You can change your name and other personal info by yourself.
The cart is to store your favorite ebooks that you added to cart. This is also the place for you to checkout your ebook. Once checkout, the ebooks will be added to your shelf. You can read the ebook using our onboard reader ProView.
1.11 ProV Recommend
ProV Recommend is a place to recommend the ebook. Client can recommend the ebook at main URL using banners, special layout at main URL, and etc.
1.12 Catalogue
Catalogue is a big module to allow Staff to catalogue their ebook. We are using the professional standard of cataloguing, such as MARC record to CIP, CIP alone and excel sheet. The cataloguing style will be modernized and simplify from time to time to matching the international standard and to facilitate Staff.
Staff can upload their ebook by using the following methods: Upload in Batch by using .mrcxml, Upload in Batch by using .mrc or Catalogue one by one by using the given template. Staff can view all their ebook in the eBook List. Staff can click to edit the particular eBook.
1.13 ProView
ProV provide 2 types of ebook viewer, which are PDF Viewer and ePub Viewer. Both of the viewers are encrypted and restricted the users to download the contents from ProV.
Desktop Browser – ProV support all well-known browsers in the market, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge.
Reader can read the eBook via the ProV View. ProV View will automatically to choose the right viewer for Reader to read the ebook.
For PDF – the platform is come with onboard PDF viewer to allow the Reader to view the ebook in PDF format. The ebook format is uploaded by the Staff. ProV has no interference on the format of the ebook.
For ePub – the platform is also come with onboard ePub reader to allow the Reader to read the ebook. ePub reader is come with more features: –
- Add notes to the ebook you purchased or loan. Your notes are saved to your own account. It will appear once you viewing the ebook.
- Add highlights to the ebook you purchased or loan. Your highlights are saved to your own account. It will appear once you viewing the ebook.
- Add bookmarks to the ebook you purchased or loan. Your bookmarks are saved to your own account. It will appear once you viewing the ebook.
1.14 Mobile App (ProV Mobile App)
ProV is come with Mobile App and support for Google Android and Apple iOS. The Mobile App is supporting mobile phones and tablets. The Mobile App is allowing Reader to log in to their account and searching for ebook. Reader can use the Mobile App to check out the ebook and to read the ebook. The Mobile App is also come with ProView, allowing Reader to read the ebook via mobile devices.
1.15 Report Module
